Broccoli Quiche Recipe
Over the years, one of my favorite dishes to cook for my family is a broccoli quiche. Broccoli is a great source of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium, according to scientists in my book, The Guide to Understanding the Nutritional Value of Fruits and Vegetables. Also stated is that the intake of broccoli results in an improvement of the general health status, mainly due to its antioxidant properties.
In my cookbook, Nadine's 19 Easy Recipes that Will Keep Your Family Healthy For Years, I share my broccoli quiche recipe. Below is my recipe for a broccoli quiche to cook for your family.
Ingredients:
1 onion chopped
1 garlic clove chopped
1 lb broccoli
1/2 cup whole milk
2 eggs
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 deep pan pie shell
1 tsp. kosher salt
Directions
- Wash, cut, and steam broccoli.
- Whip the 2 eggs in a mixing bowl.
- Mix the whole milk with the eggs.
- Add chopped onions to the bowl.
- Add chopped garlic to the bowl.
- Add the steamed broccoli and cheese.
- Mix all the ingredients together.
- Add Salt.
- Pour in pie shell.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour, or until filling is solid on top and crust is golden brown.
