If you enjoy coffee, you'll appreciate this spotlight on a Black-owned, organic coffee brand created by Mother Tynnetta Muhammad.

Meet the Founder

Mother Tynnetta affectionately called “Mother” by her contemporaries, was born in Detroit, Michigan. Since early childhood she studied many world cultures and societies. A gifted child in oratorical and writing skills, she developed a wide range of creative expression in the performing arts, including theater and dance. She often appeared in public recitals and was a regular performer on local television stations at an early age. When 16 she embraced the Divine Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, who guided her to the study of the Holy Qur’an (Mxodus, 2021).

History, Mission and Purpose Mxodus

Traveling south to Mexico, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad established a solid base of friendship with our neighbors and family members, forging a new unity of the Black, the Brown, and the Red in the Western Hemisphere.

Mxodus derives its inspiration from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad’s Program which promotes Universal Friendship in All Walks of Life (Mxodus, 2021).

In keeping with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan’s guidelines for Self Improvement, the Basis of Community Development, the Exodus Program was initiated in 1997 to further develop this theme and outreach to the greater society, we began introducing our own products to further economic development and enter into international trade and commerce (Mxodus, 2021).

Beginning in the year 2004 and continuing into 2005, the initial stages of contact for this product was made through a Mexican representative who was independently inspired to study everything about the production of the coffee bean as a way to bring benefits to some of the impoverished people living in the towns and villages of Chiapas (Mxodus, 2021).

Under the fair Trade Agreement, Mxodus would open a fully integrated program of cultural exchange making our partnership and joint venture exceedingly successful bringing to both peoples great benefits including luxury, money, good homes, and friendship in all walks of life (Mxodus, 2021).

A Couple of Mxodus Organic Coffee Products

Grown and harvested in the Highlands of Chiapas, their premium Wood Roasted Estate coffee is 100% organic (Mxodus, 2021).

Their Guatemalan whole bean coffee is organically grown under the shaded trees of the volcanic mountain region surrounding Lake Atitlan. (Mxodus, 2021).
