Interview with Children's Author, Marquita X Timmons

In my interview with Marquita X Timmons, she shared with me the story behind her children's  book, ABC Superpowers. 

 Nadine Muhammad:  Please, would you tell our readers about yourself?

Marquita X Timmons: My name is Marquita Timmons, born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. I am a wife, mother of four beautiful children, and a children’s author. 

 Nadine Muhammad:  What is your motivation for writing your book?

Marquita X Timmons: The motivation for writing this children’s book came after the birth of my first born son. I wanted to provide a book to my children and all children across the world that can inspire them to have love for self and learn their ABC’s at the same time. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan teaches us how to give birth to a god. So, it is my duty to give birth to a god. 

Nadine Muhammad: Would you  tell us what  your book is  about?

Marquita X Timmons: ABC Superpowers is a book for children to learn their ABC’s through positive attributes. This children’s book is an educational and character-building resource for young learners. Children will not only learn their alphabet, but they will also gain important life lessons.

Nadine Muhammad: What are the benefits that readers will obtain from reading your book, and how will their lives be transformed? 

Marquita X Timmons: The benefits that readers will obtain from reading this book is a love for self. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said, “self knowledge produces self love.” Not only will children learn their ABC’s, but I am striving to teach them knowledge of their “superpowers” using positive attributes for each letter of the alphabet. This is a perfect book for parents to read to their children, and for their children to read out loud to themselves as well.
