In my interview with fashion designer, Kathleen Muhammad, she shared with me the story behind the creation of her women's clothing brand, KaJa Couture. Over the years I have always loved and admired seeing both the modest and stylish outfits, she has designed for her four beautiful daughters, so, it was indeed an honor for me to do this interview with Kathleen.
Kathleen Muhammad: I have a degree in early childhood education. I studied business at the University of Phoenix. My husband and I foster at risk youth in the CPS system. I am grateful for the support of my family, as I am growing in my fashion career. Also, I am thankful to Allah (God) to be a member of the Muslim Girls Training and General Civilization Class (MGT and GCC) in the Nation of Islam, for the teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. I admire many designers from all walks of life, but I am so grateful to Allah (God) for Sis Maalikah Muhammad of Kameelah's Closet who has been a true mentor along my journey, both personally as an MGT in the Nation of Islam and designer in the fashion industry.

Nadine Muhammad: Share with us the story behind your business: the inspiration for starting, history, mission, and purpose of KaJa Couture.
Kathleen Muhammad: I created Kaja Couture out of necessity to have modest attire for my daughters and myself. After receiving so many inquiries and rave reviews about our attire, my journey into the fashion industry began!
